Middleton sells first Excel baler

Middleton Engineering has installed an Excel semi-automatic baler in the south of England. The intriguingly named Rag & Bone 2000 of Falmouth is delighted with its latest Excel EX62 baler. Installed by the Glastonbury-based firm it has replaced a "nightmare of a vertical baler; according to the firm. Managing director Simon Wilde says that the baler is the heart of the business. "We mainly bale cardboard and plastic bottles and though the volumes are not large, about 60 tonnes a month, we expect to quadruple our throughput, so we know it will be able to cope. We get kerbside collections from Cornwall and commercial waste as well. We like it because it's simple, solid and obviously designed by someone who's worked in the industry. Everything about it just fits the situation."
