Leeds: 'First council to trial biomethane in waste truck'

Leeds County Council is to use biomethane fuel to drive one of its bin trucks in a bid to reduce CO_2 emissions in the area. The council claims to be the first UK local authority to trial the fuel for a refuse collection vehicle. It is hoped that by replacing conventional diesel fuel with biomethane, CO_2 emissions will be reduced by up to 60 percent.
