Hertfordshire shortlists six for waste project

Hertfordshire County Council has shortlisted six teams for its 800 million pounds residual waste private finance initiative (PFI) project. Covanta Energy, Eon Energy from Waste, MW Umwelt, Shanks and Wheelabrator, Sita UK and Veolia ES Aurora will compete for the 25-year contract which includes the development of a 200 million pounds facility to treat up to 270,000 tonnes of residual municipal waste per year.
