Prices had increased sharply in both Russia and Turkey by early March, but that doesn't seem to have undermined the chances of additional price rises before the end of the month. Domestic demand in Russia is firming as winter draws to an end; this is encouraging mills to maintain rather than increase their export allocations, despite the strength of international demand for HR coil and plate. Demand in Turkey is strong, and this will help support further increases in Russian and Ukrainian export prices.
