ALCAB for Mathematics and Further Mathematics

The A Level Content Advisory Board (ALCAB) for Mathematics and Further Mathematics met eight times between January and November 2014 and in addition a subgroup dedicated to Mechanics met in May. I attended seven of the eight full meetings and also the mechanics meeting, representing the IMA rather than my 'home university', which is Liverpool. Alice Rogers represented the LMS, and there were several academics, a teacher, two representatives of teacher education and an independent member. Richard Craster from Imperial College was the chair of the committee. The membership, and much other information, is on the website http://alcab.org.uk/. Individual meetings were attended by representatives of the Royal Statistical Society, the Operational Research Society, the A-level awarding bodies, and several other organisations. This brief report is a personal one and not an official report by the panel!
