Lab experiments show what the pig works well in seawater pipelines. The offline signal processing, feature extraction, and defect-assessment software is effective and operator-friendly. The defect recognizing error rate is <0.5 percent. The result is satisfying, since the pig's inspection precision is 10 mm and 98 percent of the defects can be accurately measured.
