Methodology for the prediction of delamination in laminated composite structure models

Methodology for the prediction of delamination in laminated composite structure models. A methodology to study the behaviour of delaminated composite structures has been developed. This study can be split up into two parts. The first is about the detection of delamination in damaged laminated thin structures. In the finite element computational code used, those laminated structures are modeled using shell multi-layer elements, which is the originality of the study. In the second place, the influence of delamination over the overall behaviour of the structure is taken into account. The comparison between experimental and numerical results allows us to conclude a good correlation and the validation of this methodology. Many perspectives have appeared.
