Interview with Chris Linton, the New IMA President

Congratulations on being chosen as the IMA President for 2016-2017. What are your plans for your term as president? The IMA does lots and lots of really good work for mathematics and the president must support all of that, but I think then it is probably wise to focus on a few key issues where you might be able to make a difference. So, some of the things that I have in mind as areas where I might try and focus some attention are: i) Clearly we've got a very difficult financial situation currently in terms of government spending and it's important for the mathematics voice to be heard loud and clear so that mathematics doesn't get unduly damaged by whatever financial cuts are coming.
