Being a School Speaker

Last April, I was invited to go to a careers day at a SecondarySchool in North East London. As one of the volunteers ofthe IMA School Speakers Scheme, I gladly accepted takinga day off from my busy work schedule. As this was a career day,the expectation was that all I had to do was set up a stand, sit backand wait for the pupils to come to me. So to demonstrate "Mathe-matics in Action", I brought my laptop, acquired a very largescreen from the school to show a live mathematical simulation ofa submarine rescue.
