The Coal Forum has published its second report showing that its members have been very busy indeed. However, whilst it makes some very clear and positive recommendations, primarily to the government, it is also a bit too polite for Coal UK's tastes. As would be expected, the Forum highlights the generation gap that threatens us with brown-outs, as early as 2012 according to one of its scenarios, the inequities of the planning system and the need for progress on carbon capture and storage as central issues for consideration. It also has plenty to say about coal's public image and the need for it to be improved.
