Railcar shortage curbs Russian coal exports

A shortage of railcars has taken its toll on Russia's coal deliveries with the latest government figures revealing exports slipped below weak 2009 levels for the first time in September. They show Russia exported 72.64mt of all coal types between January and September, 0.13mt less than in the same period of 2009. And this was despite a 50% year-on-year increase in coking coal shipments, which jumped by 3.11mt to 9.11mt.
