Coal inventories are increasing in the Russian interior due to ashortage of railcars and exports could be affected, according to theSiberian regional government of Kemerovo.Stocks are estimated at 13.40 mt across Kuzbass’ coal mines,which is above the recommended level of 9 mt. Domestic sourcesare indicating that the daily shortage of railcars in the Kuzbassaveraged 3,000/day in August. Each railcar can load an average of60 tonnes, leaving a loading shortfall of about 0.18 mt/day, whichis not being shipped to ports. The situation is understood to beworse on Russia’s eastern seaboard.
