Astra international eyes Bayan's East Kalimantan mines

Indonesian conglomerate, Astra International, is currently in talks with East Kalimantan producer Bayan Resources to purchase some or all of the latter's East Kalimantan mines, company sources said. It's understood that Jakarta-listed Astra is currently conducting due diligence on the mines, having re-entered the coal sector in 2007 with its purchase of Dasa Eka Jesapama (DEJ).
