Mirant Philippines to sell assets

The Philippines energy sector is buzzing with speculations as to which bidders will be in the shortlist for in the sale of Mirant Philippines Corp. The deadline for the bids, which were submitted to Credit Suisse in Singapore, was on November 24. Mirant engaged Credit Suisse to manage the sale of it's 2,100 MW power assets, reported to be worth around 3 billion dollars. These comprise two coal-fired power plants (1,200MW Sual and 700MW Pagbilao), and a 20 percent share of the 1,200MW natural gas Ilijan power plant.
