World coal stocks put in another strong performance over the past month, again solidly underwritten by the handful of diversified resource giants that dominate industry capitalization and export business. BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Anglo and Xstrata all added to their heady gains for the year so far and pushed the AfCR coal share list, compiled by Credit Suisse, comfortably into positive territory for the latest period. BHP Billiton continued as the pick of the bunch, adding another 8 percent as the company continued to bask in a stellar set of corporate results. That took BHPB's gains to well over 50 percent so far this year.
