The effect of nonuniformity of the insulating layer on metalhyphen;insulatorhyphen;semiconductor, openhyphen;circuit voltage is examined. It is based on a simplified model in which insulator limits the dark current via different effects. The enhancement inVoccould be greatly degraded by surface roughness.
