Japan steel output in biggest dip for 60 years

Japan's record-breaking crude steel output slump continued in March, with the biggest dip since record-keeping began in 1948-9, according to a Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF) filing. It showed crude steel output hit 5-74mt in March, down 46.7 percent on output of 10.78mt for March, 2008, and representing the sixth consecutive year-on-year monthly output fall.
