SA exporters sign new rail contracts

A number of South African exporters have reportedly signed new contracts with rail operator Transnet Freight Rail (TFR), agreeing to higher tariffs and it's thought accepting controversial take-or-pay conditions. TFR would not be drawn on numbers, but confirmed to MCR that: "There have been some customers who have signed the contracts and we are still in negotiations with others." But one source close to the exporters said that a significant number of contracts have now been signed.
