Rain, rail cuts hit New Hope sales

QUEENSLAND THERMAL coal shipper, New Hope Corp., was hit by flood-instigated railing cuts in the latest quarter, reducing both production and shipments. A statement showed total output dipped to 1.22mt in the three months to the end of April, down 24.1% year-on-year against 1.61mt previously. But the cut in actual coal sales was held lower, at 1.58mt for the quarter, down 2.5% y-o-y against 1.62mt previously.
