US GULF AND Venezuelan mid-sulphur petcoke values continue to be supported due to logistical problems in Venezuela and a lack of available tonnage.There is demand for low volume shipments in Europe, but even this is a problem for some cement buyers looking to top up inventory levels going into the summer period.The Mediterranean continues to be the main source of spot demand. This week it emerged that Turkish cement producer Akcansa is in the market for two petcoke cargoes on a prompt basis.It is looking for a 5% mid-sulphur petcoke material for loading in July and August in separate handymax vessels. Supplies of mid-sulphur petcoke are precious at the moment and for these laycan periods.
