Mongolia's coal production rose to approximately 25mt in 2010 from 13mt in 2009, according to the National Statistics Office of Mongolia and regional analysts Eurasia Capital. Interest in Mongolia's coal industry is steadily ramping up. Eurasia Capital said: "We expect that in the next decade, Mongolian coal production will surge more than four times from the 25mt in 2010 to lOOmt in 2020 in a pattern similar to what Indonesia experienced from 1997-2004."
