European steel mills shuffle shipments

European steel mills are advancing or reshuffling US and European coking coal shipments in order to deal with the capacity problems at Australia's Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal. "The nominal claims [from DBCT] of 'we're going to catch up' seem unrealistic," said one buyer. One US supplier is thought to be delivering to some European customers at twice the contracted rate and said that if it could continue all contracts at the current pace of loading, it would finish within nine months. Another is believed to be a month ahead and - though it cautioned that things could change quickly - said that, "no-one is dragging at all."
