GLOBAL COAL CONSUMPTION will grow by just 0.8%/yr in 2013-35, according to BP's Energy Outlook 2035. Last year, BP forecast annual growth of 1.1% between 2012 and 2035. Because of the different time frames, the forecasts are not directly comparable, although both predict slowing OECD coal-demand growth and rising consumption elsewhere.
