Colombia/Venezuela coal shipments delayed

The border between Colombia and Venezuela reopened 23September. However, cross border coal trucking will not resumebefore early December 2016 or January 2017, and even then it isdoubtful significant quantities of coal from Colombia will make theroute, according to Colombian and Venezuelan industry sources.The border was closed 19 August 2015 by Venezuela’s presidentto avoid paramilitary and smuggling activities in the area.
