Molybdenum highlights

Molybdenum prices are struggling in China as disappointing demand from steelmakers, together with steel mills pressingfor lower raw material prices as their finished steel product prices decline, suppresses molybdenum pricing. There is no sign as yet of a reversal in this trend, although demand for molybdenum is poised to improve in the longer term. US and European ferro-molybdenum prices ticked higher in March on modestly higher spot market activity, but we maintain the viewthat ample supply will continue to cap prices and prevent significant price improvement during 2014.
