European ferro-vanadium prices firmed by 4.2% in the first half of April, moving from a range of $25.00-25.80/kg in March, to $25.80-27.00/kg in April. This took them to their highest level since September 2013, and reversed the downward trend seen in March. As MBR suggested last month, ferro-vanadium availability fell over the month, tightening the market. Also in line with our outlook last month, there was relatively strong demand in the market from relatively full steel mill order books, especially in northern Europe.
