Imports slow elsewhere

Activity in other countries around the region slowed markedly in the last month, with US and European exporters reporting the worst dips in sales. The flurry of exports out of Japan, caused by the weak prices available domestically, has kept a lid on the import price elsewhere in East Asia. Added to that are claims the major importers in the region, South Korea and Taiwan, have already booked heavily for deliveries up to September. Consequently, MBR expects the market to remain subdued over the next few weeks.
