In Search of the E-Spot: Teaching a Turtle to Find an Ellipse

I fondly remember my experience as a high school student learning Logo and drawing pictures with turtle graphics years ago. As a teacher, I can also now appreciate how easy turtle graphics are to explain, so when I had to teach an introductory computer science course to non-major university students, I thought using turtle graphics would work well; Python, the programming language the students were learning, happened to have a turtle graphics module anyway.
