When it comes to financing an exploration project,tried and trusted methods of calculating project net present value (NPV) are used to determine economic viability.It is therefore,surprising that such simple methods are employed to calculate project value for large capital investments.This is in contrast to the huge technological advances over the past decades in nearly every other aspect of mining,from underground drilling to hydro-metallurgy and mine planning.
