The Member's Benevolent Trust (MBT) was formed on 10 June 2003 by the amalgamation of the funds and liabilities of The Member's Trust (TMT) of the Institute of Materials,the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy Benevolent Fund (IMMBF) and the Institution of Mining Engineers (I MiniE Trust).The assets and liabilities of the various funds were merged on 8 August 2003,This year's figures for the MBT are an amalgam of 12 months TMT plus five and a half months IMMBF and IMinE income and expenditure.Therefore,we are unable to make a true comparison with the figures reported for the year 2002.
