The general application of aluminium alloys in shipbuilding are presented with respect to the subjects strength, fabrication. corrosion and corrosion protection. Specifically the problem of aluminium pipes for seawater cooling applications iselucitated. Corrosion test results, achieved by closed loop tested of longitudinal And circumferential welded aluminium pipes made of alloy AlMg{sub}4,5Mn are presented.
