The Duplex tube, composed ultra thin titanium tube clad inside or outside of aluminium brass tube by the hydraulic expansion method, shows perfect corrosion resistance and sufficient heat transfer rate in heat exchanger applications. In the case of internal titanium lining duplex tube under the high temperature conditions in chemical plants, however, the degradation of heat transfer performance raises from the difference of heat expansion co-efficient between inner and outer composed materials. To prevent the degradation of heat transfer performance, "High Temperature Hydraulic Expansion Method" by which outer tube was pre-heated over the temperature as an applied heat exchanger has been developed. It was deduced that Duplex tubes expanded by H. T. H. E. Method show perfect corrosion resistance and sufficient heat transfer rate under the high temperature condition in monitor and actual heat exchangers. Consequently it is expected that the application of Duplex tubes expanded by H. T. H. E. method can convert existing condenser and heat exchanger into high performance and reliable ones even in chemical plants.
