On the Minimal Merrifield-Simmons Index of Trees of Order n with at Least[n/2]+ 1 Pendent Vertices

The Merrifield-Simmons index of a graph is defined as the total number of its independent sets. In this paper, we give the minimal Merrifield-Simmons index of trees of order n with at least pendent vertices and characterize the extremal trees.
