The world's first automated distribution center for clinical trials is set for significant growth, according to Heinz Stamm, General Manager Vice President of Fisher Clinical Services. Industry beating levels of speed, accuracy and efficiency are being delivered by a new automated miniload and paperless picking system supplied by Univeyor. Nestled in amongst the trees near Horsham, Sussex, the Fisher Clinical Services operation supplies clinical trial packs around the globe for the major pharmaceutical companies. "Accuracy and confidentiality are paramount," comments Stamm. "Traditionally in the industry, we go to the far ends of the earth to ensure the trial packs have the right contents and are carefully labelled. With the new automated distribution warehouse this level of control has been expanded into distribution."
