Healthcare delivery in India presents many unique challenges for healthcare professionals. The country's lack of regulatory framework in quality results in a cottage industry-like scenario. Nearly two-thirds of healthcare spending is on outpatient care, and lifestyle diseases are beginning to emerge. Low insurance penetration has resulted in a high proportion of self-pay. Therefore, a dramatically different approach is required to address the gap in domiciliary healthcare segment.
