Renaissance of the V-Process

The V-Process is one of the more recent moulding processes with a record of less than 30 years. After an initial boom in the 70s and 80s and commissioning of more than 30 vacuum moulding plants by Heinrich Wagner Sinto, for a while the V-Process became extinct in respect to market share, as well as from reporting in technical journals. This was in spite of the high quality castings it was able to produce. When considering the results of this process, this slow development is almost incomprehensible. Although the process is primarily suited to the production of large castings in relatively small batches, the casting surfaces show considerably superior structure than those of comparable processes. In compliance with the existing ecological environmental regulations, the V-Process requires no binders - just high grade silica sand. This means a considerable reduction in chemical gases in the foundries.
