Norsk Hydro recently announced that it would double the recycling capacity of its magnesium plant in Bottrop, Germany. This means taking the present 7,500 tonnes per annum up to 15,000. " Increasing demand in the car industry for magnesium diecast parts, and a growing need for recycling capacity, have caused this decision to be made. An investment of euro 2.8 million (US 3.1 dollars million) will be required for the expansion.
