JSC Dneprovsky Integrated Iron&Steel Works named after Dzerzhinsky

JSC Dneprovsky Integrated Iron&Steel Works named after Dzerzhinsky (DMK im. Dzerzhinsky) is one of the largest enterprises of the ferrous metal industry of Ukraine. The company was founded in 1886, and on March 2, 1889 the first blast furnace was launched, thus starting the story of the enterprise. In 2014, the combine turned 125 years old. The place for the construction of the company was chosen in view of the favorable geographical location and geological features of the terrain, the proximity of the iron (Krivoi Rih basin) and coal (coking coal of Donbass) deposits, advanced transportation hubs - the Ekaterinin railway and the waterway of the Dnieper River, the presence of low-cost labor at nearby villages.
