JSC NTMK (Nizhnetagilsky Integrated Iron-and-Steeh Works, located in Nizhny Tagil (Sverdlovsk oblast) (around 1100 Ian to the east from Moscow) is the main Russian supplier of rails for railways. The enterprise structure includes: Sintering plant (3 sintering facility with total caking area of 187.5m~2); Coal-tar chemical plant (total capacity of above 4m tpy): Coke shop No. 2 includes 4 21.6 m~3 coke-oven batteries (commissioned in 1954-1957). The shop produces wet-quenched coke. Coke shop No. 3 includes 2 41.3 m~3 coke-oven batteries (commissioned in 1986 and 1989). The shop produces dry-quenched coke. In 1999, at the plant, a shop on production of slag-forming mixtures for continuous casters (BOC production of the company) was commissioned. The shop produces 5 kinds of the mixtures for casting low-carbon, low-alloyed alloyed, medium-carbon and high-carbon steels; |6r sections of round and rectangular section; for slabs and beam semis. Besides, the shop produces heat-insulating mixture for intermediate ladle of continuous casters.
