The Department of Chemicals in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers has released the draft of the New Pharmaceutical Policy 2006 (Part-A).The policy lays emphasis on strengthening of the drug regulatory system;public private partnership program for anti-cancer and anti-HIV/AIDS drugs;reduction in the excise duty on all pharmaceutical products from 16 to 8;imposition of a health cess @ 2 etc.
