The halfway point between PDM and PLM

THE rapid adoption of 3D design tools has caused an explosion in the amount of product design data that designers, engineers and manufacturers need to manage, control and share. At the same time, the pricing and functionality of comparative Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) packages has blurred. Lower-cost PDM systems now offer much of the same functionality as a high-end PLM system, but maintain a price point closer to a PDM system.
