Poland exports less pork; Little change in US pig numbers; Brazilian poultry exports soar; GATT beef quota update; Pig meat quota availability: Second BSE case confirmed in Canada: On 2 January the Canadian government confirmed that an eight year olddairy cow from Alberta had tested positive for BSE. The infected animal was born in 1986 prior to the implementation of Canada's 1997 feed ban. The government confirmed that no part of the animal had entered the human food or animal feed chains.
