Pharmacists must be ready to submit CPD for review

Members of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society could be called upon to submit their continuing professional development (CPD) records for review at any time, the Society announced last week.From 27 July, the Society will be routinely asking practising pharmacists and registered practising pharmacy technicians to submit their records for review and feedback. Janet Flint, the Society's CPD lead and head of support staff regulation, said: "Call and review has been launched by the Society to prepare pharmacists and pharmacy technicians for the introduction of statutory CPD in 2010, when the General Pharmaceutical Council is established. It is hoped that the new system will encourage engagement and help to address any difficulties registrants might have with their CPD record keeping."
