Celebrating the success of Ontario wines

Member's of Ontario's wine and grape growing industries along with various government officials have recently harvested the last of Icewine grapes in Niagara as part of a celebration of their joint efforts in the international success of Ontario'swine industry. Ontario wines have had tremendous success at international wine competitions. In 1995, Ontario wines won 17 top awards at Vinexpo, the world's largest wine competition, and seven out of eight to awards in the Sweet Wine and Chardonnay categories at Vinltaly. They also won 39 medals, including eight gold and the prestigious Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande trophy for the show's best blended red wine at England's International Wine and Spirit Competition.
