Ont. grape growers review vintage year

Statistically, 1995 was a vintage year for Ontario grape growers, John Neufeld, chairman of the Ontario Grape Growers Marketing Board, noted the yield for grapes for processing was up 19 per cent last year, while the quality, as measured by sugar bonus, was up 4 per cent. The farm-gate value, he added, was up 24 per cent. "Sales wise, 1995 was an excellent year," said Neufeld during an interview prior to the annual meeting of the board, "All the grapes were sold."
