The complete H-1 and C-13 chemical shift assignment of two closely related isomeric triterpenoids, 3 alpha,16 alpha,20(R),25-tetrahydroxy-2,11,22-trioxocucurbita-5,23(E)-diene and 3 beta,16 alpha,20(R)-trihydroxy-25-acetoxy-2,11,22-trioxocucurbita-5,23(E)-diene, making use of one- and two-dimensional NMR techniques (HMBC, HMQC, COSY and NOESY) is described.
