3-D printing and conventional machining on a 'single-platform' can process aerofoil parts

Mitsui Seiki has developed a 'single-platform' hybrid vertical machining centre (VMC) that can - in an integrated cycle - create 3-D printed parts from scratch, add material to existing workpieces (as required in the repair of costly aerospace components), and undertake conventional subtractive machining.
