PWC makes regional visas proposal

A report from professional-services group Price Waterhouse Coopers suggests that cities such as Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle should be allocated regional visas to allow companies to recruit foreign workers after the UK leaves the European Union. Commissioned by the City of London Corporation, the PWC report has modelled the scheme on regional visa policies in Australia and Canada. Both countries have a targeted strategy for bringing migrants to areas where low population growth and skills gaps are restricting local industry.
