In the last three junior reports I mentioned starting an e-mail question and answers/discussion group for the junior members. On October 21st, 2001, the junior e-mail list was instituted. We had our first question show up on the list Oct. 25th from James Cornell. It was a great question and possibly one of importance to many junior members. If you did not receive notification of the junior e-mail list or receive Jim's question I must not have been able to find an e-mail address for you. I would like to have all junior members participate in this new member benefit so please e-mail your e-mail addresses to jgregar@anl.gov. All current ASGS junior members in good standing with e-mail addresses will be included. Here is Jim Cornell's question, for the benefit of those who missed it: "I have a job that recently was submitted to me. I have to make a quartz furnace tube, 35mm o.d., which has a graded seal to a glass to metal flange. After I get these all fused together, does it go into the oven for annealing? I do not know what effect oven annealing has on the metal flange."
