The purpose of this article is to provide a logical approach to educating others regarding the complications of installing and properly using current off the shelf Chuck Guard systems onto a glassblowers lathe. The article shows that the use of a chuck guard on a glassblower s lathe would be both work prohibitive and a potential for another workplace hazard itself.
